Volunteering at Family & Children's Center

What You Can Do

You can become a part of the life changing work that we do. With your unique skills, abilities, and experience you can help make a difference in your community. Please know that the majority of our opportunities are intermittent.

• Development Office: Be a part of the team that coordinates fundraising, community relations and agency communications. Inquire about internship opportunities available in this office, as well.

• Events: If you are unable to volunteer on a regular basis, we are always looking for help with special events. Most volunteers in this category join event planning committees that meet intermittently throughout the year. There are also several one-time volunteer opportunities in this category. Current event opportunities include:

o Guardian Gala of Hope: Join the planning committee that meets bi-monthly from November to May. The Guardian Gala supports our child abuse prevention programs, and honors individuals in the community who have been actively involved in the fight against child abuse. The 2012 event is scheduled for early May.

o Tri-Quest: Assist with the bike route at the Tri-Quest Run, Bike, Golf-A-Thon. Help provide safety to participants by directing traffic on the 33K route. Tri-Quest 2012 will be Sunday, September 19. Volunteers typically arrive at 7:45 am and are done before noon. Volunteers receive a shirt and lunch.

• Programming: Work with the youth or adults in one of our programs. Assist staff with day to day operations, or help complete special projects. Please know licensing and certification guidelines prohibit volunteer placement in the vast majority of our programs; these opportunities are very limited.

To learn more about current volunteer opportunities, contact our Volunteer Coordinator.
