Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Family & Children's Center need charitable support?

Since its beginning in 1881, Family & Children's Center has relied on generous communtiy support to help fulfil its mission.  A combination of resources including county and state government contracts, program and service fees, school districts and investments allow Family & Children's Center to maintain services.  Charitable gifts enable us to offer advanced services, cover one-time capital expenditures and expand upon quality programming.

What difference can my gift make?

Donors to the Family & Children's Center impact thousands of children and families every year.  With your help we are able to help failing students find success in school, equip overwhelmed and over-stressed parents with new parenting skills, place abused and neglected children in happy, loving, nurturing homes, and teach belligerent youth new ways to solve their problems and cope in the world around them.

An investment in Family & Children's Center is an investment in better tomorrows. It's an investment offering unparalleled returns, not just for those who benefit directly but also for your own family's and community's quality of life.

Can I specify how my gift will be used?

Absolutely. Gifts to Family & Children's Center fall under two categories: greatest need or designated.

Greatest need gifts are greatly appreciated because they allow us to meet current, pending needs. These important contributions provide short-term flexibility and support a wide variety of programs and services.

You may choose to designate your gift to a specific program or region.  When directing your gift you will enjoy the satisfaction of knowing your support benefits an area that has particular meaning for you. Designation options are listed on giving forms (remit envelopes, online form, printable donation form).

What happens to my gift when it reaches the agency?

We try to acknowledge the receipt of all gifts within 48 hours by mailing a letter of thanks that also serves as your charitable gift receipt. Your gift will be placed within the appropriate fund and used to support programs or services you have specified (or if unspecified, the area of greatest need).

If your gift is made in honor or in memory, we will send news of your gift, without mention of amount, to the honoree(s) or to the family of the deceased.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Yes. Gifts to Family & Children's Center are fully tax deductible as allowed by law.

Can I give anonymously?

Yes. Simply tell us you wish to remain anonymous. We are happy to honor your request.

Will my name and contact information be shared with other organizations?

No. Family & Children's Center values your support and respects your privacy. We do not share donor information with outside entities.
