Guardian Gala of Hope

You can be involved in the prevention of child abuse locally by supporting Family & Children's Center's Guardian Gala of Hope.  The Guardian Gala of Hope is our annual signature event intended to openly celebrate, recognize, and further educate the community about the immense impact that the Healthy Families and Stepping Stones programs has on our children, their families and our greater community.

Healthy Families and Stepping Stones Child Advocacy Center are working to not only improve the efficiency of the mandated response to child abuse reports, but prevent abuse from ever happening in the first place. Stepping Stones coordinates services for the child victim and their families by working with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure child friendly services and improve the investigation and prosecution of cases. Healthy Families is the foremost program in eliminating child abuse before it even occurs by offering in-home help and instruction to at-risk families throughout the first five years of their child’s life. Can you imagine what programs might NOT be necessary if more families were given proactive support and help from the beginning?

Both programs are supported by grants and community contributions. Proceeds from this event help to offset program expenses every year.  Currently only one third of at-risk families can participate in Healthy Families, and Stepping Stones needs support to continue the healing process after abuse occurs and to successfully prosecute offenders.
