2012 True Blue Champion of the Year
Do you know someone who has worked quietly, tirelessly to prevent or address child abuse in the Seven Rivers Region? Family & Children's Center would like to recognize that individual or organization with our first ever True Blue Champion of the Year award at the Guardian Gala of Hope on May 10, 2011.
A True Blue Champion will be an individual, group, organization or company that has made a significant contribution to local child abuse/neglect prevention efforts. True Blue Champions are our everyday heroes—teachers, coaches, guidance counselors, community activists, local business owners—who display an unmatched passion for helping area children.
True Blue Champions may:
- Be a professional who regularly works with children but more often than not does more than his/her expected job duties to help them
- Be an individual who volunteers his/her time to working with at-risk children and families
- Be a volunteer who actively participates in a community event to raise public awareness of child abuse
- Have generously supported child abuse prevention programming through sponsorships and donations
