Day Treatment Services

Day Treatment  is a half day mental health program that utilizes a group therapy format.  The program is designed to improve the overall well-being of children and adolescents struggling with severe emotional or behavioral difficulties and mental health issues.  Issues can include anxiety, depression, poor self-image, relationshp difficulties, mood difficulties, violent and dangerous behavior and various issues of adjustment related to loss, alcohol and substance abuse, discordant family relationships and a myriad of life stressors that may be contributing to the child's struggles.

We use a variety of therapeutic large and small group activities including arts and crafts, recreational therapy, team building, various skill building groups (emotional and behavioral management, communication skills, etc.) and psychotherapy groups.  Our emphasis is two fold.  One is to assist the child and family in identifying and developing areas of skill and strength.  The second is to support and assist the child and their family in applying these skills and strengths in a manner that alleviates not only current issues but sets the groundwork for their being able to successfully address future struggles as they arise.

Children are placed according to age, functioning level and specific needs.  The continuum of day treatment options in Winona includes the following:

Bridges - Early Childhood Day Treatment

School Based Day Treatment for Elementary & Middle School Students

Adolescent Day Treatment
