The Sandcastles Program was specifically designed to assist children and youth ages 6 to 17 who are coping with their parent’s divorce. As a nationally recognized program, Sandcastles has helped countless children through the emotional difficulties associated with divorce. The program provides a safe and supportive environment where children and youth can develop skills to cope with their feelings.
- Participants engage in small, interactive groups with peers their own age who are also experiencing divorce
- Includes children 6-17 whose parents have divorce proceedings in La Crosse County as well as voluntary referrals
- Participants view problems differently and create coping strategies and solution-oriented skills that lend to life changes related and unrelated to divorce
- Last 15 minutes includes the children’s parents and focuses on improving communication
