FCC has openings to provide a safe, nurturing environment for Winona-area children with severe emotional behavioral difficulties or who are at-risk.

Bridges (3 to 9-year-olds) and Adolescents (12 to 18-year-olds)

Children’s Therapeutic Services and Support is a licensed mental health program, designed to meet the needs of children and adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties. Services are provided in a group setting, one-to-one, or as a family, based on the needs of the client. Individual skills training can be offered in the school, community, or home setting. Groups are offered for youth at various ages and developmental levels. Day group services are offered three hours per day, Monday-Friday (times vary depending on group and time of year).

Children’s Therapeutic Services and Support utilizes a variety of approaches to create a safe and structured environment designed to improve the overall well-being of the youth. The program provides a structured setting and offers the following service components:

  • Diagnostic Assessment (DC 0-5, standard, extended)
  • Individualized Support and Crisis Planning
  • Community Support/Case Management
  • Psychotherapy (individual, group, family)
  • Skills Training (individual, group, family, recreational, independent living, organizational, et.)

RISE Program

Family & Children’s Center’s RISE (Resilience, Independence, Support, Engagement) Program provides mental health skill-based services to give at-risk youth in
Winona an opportunity to learn, grow, socialize and participate in opportunities to enrich their lives and discourage them from unhealthy and unlawful activities.

The program will also provide parents/caregivers the opportunity to learn skills to provide a safe, supportive and connected relationship with the youth in their care.

  2. Decrease illegal activities by at-risk youth
  3. Increase caregiver/child relationship of at-risk youth

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Youth identified as at-risk or currently at truancy level attendance
  2. Youth identified as being at risk of engaging in illegal activities
  3. Caregivers identified as needing additional support to care for at-risk youth

Referrals

Referrals can come from such entities as the Winona Area Public School, Winona County Health and Human Services, Winona County Probation and Parole, Winona County Court Services, Winona Health, Emplify Health (formerly known as Gundersen Health System) and any other community entity of related interest.
