FCC and WSU team up for Child Abuse Prevention Walk (WKBT)
WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — A walk in Winona helped bring awareness to child abuse prevention month.
The Family & Children’s Center and Winona State University teamed up Monday afternoon to host the walk, drawing in staff, students and community members.
The walk started on WSU’s campus and made its way through Winona where supporters shared information on child abuse prevention.
One coordinator said strong community support is key in helping build a solid family foundation.
“Finding a positive way to not just end child abuse but make people aware that there are aspects of growing families, building stronger communities is really important when we look at having happier, healthy children,” said FCC coordinator Danielle Swedberg.
The walk was about a half a mile with roughly 40 people participating.
