Family & Children’s Center engages the community for Child Abuse Prevention Month (WXOW)

News 19 in La Crosse welcomed Family & Children’s Center President/CEO Tita Yutuc sat down with WXOW’s Crystal Flintrop to discuss the ways FCC is bringing awareness to La Crosse, Winona, Viroqua and surrounding communities during Child Abuse Prevention Month.

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) — Through the month of April, the Family and Children’s Center (FCC) will be engaging with the surrounding communities to bring awareness to child abuse.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.

During the month, the FCC will be hosting free awareness events at both the La Crosse and Winona locations.

On April 11th, a ‘Hands are For…’ art contest is taking place with local students highlighting the positive uses for hands. That takes place at the Winona office from 10:30-3:30 p.m.

On the 18th at 5p.m., the community can view the art submissions for the contest at WNB Financial in Winona.

The FCC is hosting a walk to provide awareness for child abuse and sexual assault in partnership with Winona State University. It takes place on April 22 at 4 p.m. Community members wanting to participate should meet at the gazebo on WSU’s campus. The walk ends at the Winona FCC location.
