Family & Children’s Center Receives a Generous Book Donation (WXOW)

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Children receiving services at the Family & Children’s Center (FCC) will now have more assistance, following a contribution of books that have been donated to FCC.

The contribution was made in part by a grant given from Gillette Pepsi Co. who provided the grant to The Healing Chapters Foundation to help give the books to the FCC. The books will provide enjoyment and contribute to the care of children receiving services at FCC.

“If a child is dealing with illness of some kind being read to or even doing the reading themselves can of take them out of the process of dealing with that illness and getting them involved in something else or just providing them some love and comfort.” Founder & President of the Healing Chapters Foundation Mark Even said.

The books will be distributed to FCC programs like Healthy Families, which provides support and encouragement for parents of young children, and Safe Visitation, which provides a setting in which parents and their child(ren) can safely maintain a relationship with their noncustodial parent.

The story originally aired on WXOW on August 28, 2024.
