April 1, 9:30 am
To start Child Abuse Prevention Month, Family & Children’s Center (FCC) welcomes community members of all ages to raise awareness by helping FCC staff plant blue kids in front of FCC’s Minnesota Headquarters at 601 Franklin Street at promptly at 9:30 am The blue kids serve as a visual reminder of the prevalence of child abuse across the nation and of FCC’s continued efforts in abuse prevention and child advocacy. Tita Yutuc, President/CEO of FCC, will be available for interviews.
Returning this year, several of FCC’s valued community partners will also plant blue kids at their locations to show their support of abuse prevention and intervention.
Blue kids will also be placed at FCC offices in La Crosse (811 Monitor Street and 2505 Weston Street), and Viroqua (1321 North Main Street).
April 3, 5 pm
Meet Blue Waldo, one of La Crosse Symphony Orchestra’s Conductor Wannabes, during April’s First Friday Art Walk. Catch him at The RAD (123 4th St N, La Crosse) from 5 to 7 pm on April 3. There will be photo ops, activities, and of course – plenty of artwork to enjoy.
Funds raised by Blue Waldo will help abused children & their families receive advocacy and healing. Your vote also provides instruments and lessons to kids in need through LSO music education programs.
Remember – April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Can we count on your vote of $30 (that’s $1 per day) to help us break the cycle of abuse and enrich lives with music?
A link to vote is available on fcconline.org.
