May is Foster Care Month
May is Foster Care Month! We are highlighting some facts about the need and sharing ways you can help the lives of a child in your community!
FCC offers Treatment Foster Care (TFC), which is out-of-home care by foster parents with specialized training to care for children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral or medical needs. TFC is designed to provide safe and nurturing care to a child or youth in a more structured home environment. TFC providers are licensed at a level 3 or higher level of care.
The goal of foster care placement is to provide a temporary home that gives children and teens a safe place to live when their parents or caregivers are going through a crisis. The foster parent helps the child meet their emotional, physical, educational, medical and recreational needs and to safely reunite them with their families.
Treatment Foster Care serves children and youth with complex problems due to experiencing trauma. TFC parents provide a healing environment for the child and trauma-informed care.
